Gherman Howell, CFA®

Gherman Howell is an Equity Portfolio Manager and member of Evergreen Gavekal’s investment team. He ensures the firm’s investment portfolios align with the Investment Committee’s economic outlook, researching investment opportunities and reporting on significant developments in the world economy.

Previously, Gherman worked at Citizens Financial Group as a member of its Central Model Development Group and Balance Sheet Optimization team, where he helped build quantitative models and advised the executive team on long-term bank strategy.

Gherman earned his bachelor’s degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis in accounting, from Boston University. He went on to earn both an MBA and a Master’s in Finance from Boston College, where he was inducted into the Beta Kappa Sigma Honors Society. While there, he also served as Director of Invest ‘N Kids, an organization connecting local middle school students with professionals for educational support and mentorship.

Outside of the office, Gherman enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking.
